                            CEMETERY HOPS

In an effort to aid genealogists and those seeking the burial places of their loved ones or ancestors, the OHCE Genealogy Group has selected Cemetery Transcription as our major project for the year. This is a wonderful companion to our recently completed Cemetery Directory project which provides locations and directions to all known cemeteries in all 77 counties in Oklahoma. Most cemeteries have transcriptions on line, but many are not listed online. Now, we are in the process of providing tombstone photographs and transcriptions of all known cemeteries in Oklahoma County. We hope other counties will get interested and follow suit!

We plan to "hop" on the second Wednesday of each month, weather permitting. Our next hop is TBA.

All interested individuals or groups are encouraged to join us in our efforts and come "hopping" with us!" If you need further information, please contact Cemetery Hopping Committee Chairman Jan Beattie at jankb80@sbcglobal.net or telephone (405) 513-4014.
